"In Transition" by SRM (Electronic Artist from Texas(TX))

RadioIndy is pleased to present SRM with a GrIndie Award for their CD "In Transition"

"In Transition" by SRM is creative collection of psychedelic ambient electronic tracks with a sense of humor. Combined with the strangeness are jazz and adult contemporary elements that make this album pretty unique. The sound is very "Classic 80's" both in the choice of synths and arrangements. There is a nice tug-of war between intensity and relaxation throughout the album. It works well. As a track ends and a new one begins, you have no idea what you are getting. Highlights are "Fishfin" with a wonderfully monotonous bass line, subtle intense synth strings and a few other cool ambient elements. "Really Cheesy Theater Theme" is so out of place that it works, with its hokey beat and surf guitar. "Jasper Did Once, But He Don't Do No More" has a tricky little beat and keeps you on your toes. If you enjoy finding creative ambient electronic music, you'll enjoy this CD.

"Acoustic Mechanic" by Kent Welton (Electronic Artist from California(CA))

RadioIndy is pleased to present Kent Welton with a GrIndie Award for their CD "Acoustic Mechanic"

"Acoustic Mechanic" is a CD by Kent Welton, a skilled classical guitarist, who has brought you his talents on this CD in the form of songs that feature much more than guitar. Kent's impressive guitar work certainly stands on it's own on this CD. However, in addition to Kent's guitar work, the CD features passionate strings, airy syths, and wonderful piano work. The beautiful arrangements very effective meld various acoustic instruments, to provide each song a subtle life of it's own. "Night in Seville" leads off the album and sets the tone with a beautifully arranged and executed guitar piece. ""Morning Chamber" is a wonderful string arrangement and is undoubtedly an anthem to the beauty of a new day. "A Flutish Fancy," starts with a dark intensity and blooms into a fantasy-like movement. If you enjoy classical and new age music, you'll enjoy this CD.
